Read the FAQs About Our Collision Repair Estimates

Have a question about our auto collision repair estimates at Elite Body Works? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!
  • Do I need an appointment for an estimate?

No, just drive by anytime an appointment is not needed. We are open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m.

  • How long will an estimate take?

About 15 to 20 minutes. If there is a massive amount of damage, or you have an antique car or sports car or the like, it may take more time.

  • Do you charge for estimates?

No, there isn't a charge, unless your vehicle is over 10 model years old.

  • Where do I park for an estimate?

Park on Washington St or Mahier Road (a dead-end street) and we will visually inspect your vehicle and prepare the estimate.

  • Do I have to drop by your shop for an estimate?

No, we prefer to visually inspect a vehicle to prepare an accurate estimate of the cost for the insurance company. But, if you can email us a photo of the damage, we can create a preliminary estimate and contact you by phone to answer any of our questions. But if the wrong parts are ordered because of a phone estimate, there can be up to a 25% restocking charge.

  • Does my car need to be clean for an estimate?

Preferably yes, but it isn't absolutely necessary. A clean vehicle allows for a more thorough visual inspection of the exterior surfaces, and it is considered necessary to estimate damage resulting from a hail storm.

  • Can you prepare an estimate for any vehicle?

We can make an estimate for most vehicles. However, if you have an old sports car or an antique car, we may have to have to do some research to complete our estimate and it will take longer. Call us in advance in this case.

  • Can I just schedule an appointment and let you do all of the rest?

Yes, however, the repair process will be smoother and faster if we can visually inspect the vehicle in advance, prepare the estimate, get the estimate approved, and pre-order the parts before the vehicle is dropped off.

  • Can I send you my insurance estimate?

Yes, we will order the parts directly from your insurance estimate and schedule an appointment for you. If we have any questions, you can answer them over the phone. If the estimate doesn't cover all the damages, we will contact the insurance company for an adjustment to the estimate.

  • Is the estimate final and binding?

An estimate is just that an initial idea of the potential cost to repair the vehicle. All vehicles are designed to cover and shield the support sub-systems such as its engine, transmission, and all manner of brackets, steel reinforcements, impact absorbers, and the like. Thus, it is impossible to see all the damage with just a visual inspection. When we disassemble the damaged areas, we will be able to identify any additional parts necessary to repair the vehicle. If your vehicle was involved in a serious collision, it is highly probable that additional parts will have to be ordered and your insurance company knows this. When we find the need for additional parts not identified on the original estimate, we will notify them and get their approval before proceeding.

  • What happens if my insurance company's estimate is less than your estimate?

There can be many reasons for this, but rest assured, we work with all major insurance companies and will resolve any differences so we can perform the highest quality repair work and make sure your vehicle is returned to pre-accident condition.

  • Do I need more than one estimate?

No. Repair estimates are fairly standardized. Most reputable repair facilities use computer software to create accurate repair estimates. Any difference may mean that one estimate is based on OEM parts and the other on rebuilt parts or that an estimator missed some severe damage. We will go over our estimate with you so that you fully understand what is involved in the repair of your vehicle. We will work closely with your insurance company to repair your vehicle and return it to you in pre-accident condition.

  • Do I have a choice of which repair facility I use?

You have the right to choose the repair facility you want to do the work. We will work with any reputable insurance company to repair your vehicle and process your claim.

  • Am I required to use the repair facility with the lowest repair estimate?

No, you can choose who you wish to repair your vehicle. Often the repair facility with the lowest estimate may have missed some severe damage or has based their estimate on rebuilt parts. We stand behind our estimates and will work with you with the insurance company to provide the best possible outcome for your vehicle based on your objectives.
